“The day we started Apple Computer, IBM was far more powerful in the computer industry than Microsoft and Intel are today.
The day we started Apple.
And, so, we should of just given up.
I should of just nudged Woz – “hey, forget it. We don’t have a chance.”
But we were too stupid to know that.
We hadn’t gone to business school.
We didn’t read the – we didn’t know what the Wall Street Journal was!
I’d never seen a Wall Street Journal!
And that served us well.
So, what can I say?
I think every good product that I’ve ever seen in this industry and pretty much anywhere is because a group of people cared deeply, about making something wonderful that they and their friends wanted. You know? They wanted to use it themselves.
And that’s how almost everything I know that’s good has come about.
It didn’t come about because people were trembling in the corner, worried about some big company stomping on them.”
Last night I got to see Bon Iver perform at the Prospect Park Band Shell. It was an awesome show.

I recorded this SoundCloud file on my phone of “Wolves Act I & II” during the encore last night. Still have…
For my two newest projects, I’ve combined my love of travel and interest in people.
If you haven’t checked them out yet [Whaaattt…C’mon now : )], here they are:
@Travelwiggle: Interviews with travelers.
@itravelbecause: A collection of reasons & pictures by travelers on why they travel.
Let me know what ya think! I’m @rosalieinc
Happy Travels,

Forgot how much fun singing & dancing in a room filled with hundreds of people is. Thanks @christomlin & @rendcollective.
One of the first things I noticed about my Introduction to PHP and MySQL class is the amount of people that are enrolled. My Ruby on Rails class has 12 students enrolled, whereas, this PHP and MySQL class has 60 students enrolled. Not sure what the reason for the noticeable difference in class size is.
Just like in my Ruby on Rails class, we were also asked in my PHP and MySQL class to introduce ourselves to the class this week.
Here are some of the reasons my classmates gave for taking this class:
Here are some of the job titles my classmates mentioned in their introductions:
The Ruby on Rails course that I’m enrolled in started yesterday.
In addition to reading up on the differences between static/dynamic and client-side/server-side, we were instructed to download and install Instantrails, as well as, to introduce ourselves to the class.
Introductions were to include our name and why we’re taking the class.
Here are some of the reasons my classmates gave for taking the class:
Some of my classmates mentioned their job titles in their introductions:
We start Lesson 2 tomorrow which means I have no homework this evening and get to play iPad Monopoly against my sister. Yay! :)

The internet is one of the coolest places to create something on. Once you’re done creating something or even while you’re still working on it, it’s really easy to share your project, get feedback or maybe even…users! :)
Up until today, I’ve been able to contribute to every part of my web projects except for…the coding part! That’s because I dont know how to code.
I can type up a very detailed description of exactly how a site should function, wireframe layouts, setup domains, upload code - need images? Sure, no problem! Want me to code that new feature for the site? Sure, let me just, Ummm…go learn how to do that! Ha. :)
Not being able to be 100% part of my projects isn’t fun. So…today I’m really excited to be starting a 6 week Ruby on Rails class!
That being said, I’m really glad that helpful sites like Stack Overflow exist. Will definitely be frequenting it and looking into answers found here:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/55574/learning-ruby-on-rails.
I’ll be posting updates here for the next 6 weeks about what I’m learning, enjoying, having difficulty with and hopefully, what I’m coding!
If you ever have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to drop me a note here or @Rosalieinc me on twitter.
With much excitement,
Rosalie
No Vocals. 10 minutes & 52 seconds.
Really want to make a music video for it one day.
Every time I hear this song, I picture two people who are meant to be together but are always seperated by life, distance, relationships, etc.
Over a period of 10 years, they come in and out of each other’s lives.
Clips of their lives flash throughout the song.
At 8:31, all the “obstacles” that have been keeping them apart will flood/flash the screen.
Finally, at 10:10 - 10:14, they get together.
Happy ending. :)
My favorite cover of Skinny Love by Bon Iver.
Cover done by Lauren (In Current Standing).
